How To Have A Bigger Impact On The World

I’m going to share with you eight ways to have a greater, deeper and more connected vast and scalable impact on the planet, whether it’s for your startup business your scale-up business or simply to live a meaningful life.

Okay, so number one is going to be having a Grand Vision. Two is Building a Big Platform, three is facing challenges and even doing big challenges on purpose. Four is going to be helping people at scale, five will be building a team around you and six will be setting up a foundation. I’ll share number seven and eight at the end because I think they’re probably the best to all

  1. Having a grand vision.

Right, number one having a Grand Vision. My vision used to be to start a business, then it was to get out of debt and then it was to make £3,000 and then £5,000 per month and then £10,000 and then £20,000 and then to buy a Ferrari and then to make a million in sales and then in profit, blah blah blah…

Now, have those as your vision are fine but the world doesn’t care about that, the world and your clients care about how you can help them. So when you have personal goals they’re self-centred but if you can turn them into local, community, national, intercontinental, global or even intergalactic visions and contribution, then you’ll find you have greater impact and scale.

Two or three years ago I set up my Foundation ‘The Rob Moore Foundation’ now my personal vision started as getting out of debt and making money and being a successful entrepreneur but I found that my clients weren’t interested in them as people don’t care what you know until they know that you care.

So I turned what I wanted to achieve into also and mutually serving vision and then my world changed, my connections changed and my impact and scale changed. So now my personal vision is to help as many people on this planet start and scale their business and get a better financial education. And people can relate to that and all of a sudden they’re involved in my vision now.

Of course, I’m never going to help everyone on the planet no matter how hard I try but if I have a goal to help as many people on the planet, I’m going to help more people. So remember if it serves and it solves problems for humanity, people buy into it.

  1. Build a big platform.

Okay, so the second one then is to build a big platform. If you have a vast amount of followers on Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube etc you name it? Then you’re going to be able to monetise that following pretty easily.

And you going to be able to have great connections, get great guests, great collaborations, endorsements and sponsorships. So I’m really looking to build my following, I’ve just hit sixteen thousand two hundred followers on Clubhouse in just two weeks. That’s 1.6% of all the users in Clubhouse, so imagine if I had 1.6% of all the users on Facebook.

  1. Facing big challenges

Okay, the third thing is challenges. The bigger the challenge you solve in the world the greater your reward and the more useful you are to society. So, instead of hiding away from big challenges, go and face them. Take lockdown, for example, take it as a challenge and make a big pivot in your business.

The next level of taking on big challenges is actually to do sadistic challenges, so I broke two world records for the longest individual speech and then also the guest team speech and we generated many hundreds of thousands of pounds in revenue for my company because if you go for the big challenges people will buy into them.

  1. Helping people scale.

Moving on then, number four when we think about making a greater impact in the world is to think about scale, trying to reach millions of people and leveraging our time.

Try to help one person everyday help one person every day and so on. I’ve been committing to do that for a good few years with 15-minute free phone calls and 1-2-1 mentorships.

  1. Build a team around you

Okay, five then is to build a team around you. You can’t do everything and entrepreneurs always start by doing everything but in reality, they should focus on things like vision, legacy, high income generating tasks or building your personal brand.  All of the admin, finances, follow up, technical stuff and the systems should be done by people in your team.

  1.  Setting up a foundation

Number 6 is setting up a foundation. So I think I was 37 or 38 years old when I launched my book ‘Money’ and that did really well in the UK so I decided to set up my foundation and to raise money through ‘Money’ book sales for the Rob Moore Foundation which is to help as many young and underprivileged entrepreneurs on this planet to start and scale their business.

I want young and underprivileged people with meaningful businesses to get support from me in two forms, grants and mentorship, guidance, support, investment and resources to change the world.

Let’s be honest our generation and the generation above kind of messed the planet up a bit and we need the young to sort it out for us, so if you set up some kind of foundation or charity or you’re able to do charity based work you’re going to make a big difference/

  1. Interview great leaders and connect with powerful people.

Okay, I’ve been saving this one, number seven is to interview great leaders and connect with powerful people. My podcast has been brilliant for this I’ve interviewed 14 billionaires, I’ve interviewed many of the most powerful and influential and interesting people on the planet and as a result, many of those have become friends and connections.

And when you have a great network, you can build more connections

  1. Be kind to people.

Okay, finally then is being kind to more people.

I think the more kind you are to people you will make a big difference in their world. I think that there is a virtuous butterfly effect.

So, when you’re starting off scaling as an entrepreneur you want to make a bit more money or you’re not quite sure where you want to be, you can often become too focused or obsessed on the commercial but don’t forget to do kind things every day.
